Not really a rant, but a musing. The other day at yoga, we concluded the class with the normal relaxation routine. The last pose we strike is corpse pose. I'm sure you can imagine what that is. It made me realize that the only time I might get a break from the breakneck pace of my ridiculous life is when I eventually die. During the pose, they tell us to let go of all thoughts (this is encouraged during all of the class actually) but I always imagine myself as a corpse floating down the river on a piece of drifting wreckage. I hear birds and smell and hear nature as animals scavenge at my body. I wonder what death would be like. It seems peaceful, such a contrast to the busy hussle and bussle of trying to satisfy all of our contemporary desires. |

I've never understood some people's need to be doing "something" all the time. |

I have always wondered if the spirit is floating around, right after a patient has passed and we are doing the post mortum. Sometimes it feels like you are being watched. On the expected deaths though, the look of peace on the face is comforting, especially when you have the previous to compare it to and can see the obvious peace. Raf, try imagining floating down the river with no birds and animals around :p. Not much peace with scavaging going on |

It's not that I feel the need to do things all the time, just that all the commitments I have between my job, friends and crossing items off the bucket list start to snowball into requiring huge amounts of time. |

Then I would recommend actually scheduling down time. It might seem counter intuitive, but your body and mind need a break from the time to time. Alternately, learn to say no. |

the problem with saying no is that if you do it one too many times, people stop calling you.. so 3 month down the track you start not having anything to do =P |
