In this edition of Things That People Do That Annoy Me:

Vehicle Window Arm Hanger-Outers.

You know who I mean (you may even be one) -- that guy or girl who's just driving along with the window all the way down and their entire arm just a-floppin' down the side of their car door in the breeze.

And the worst part of this annoyance is . . . I have no exact idea WHY it bothers me. Just seeing that arm out the window makes me think they should be like dogs who stick their heads out of windows and let their tongue fly back in the breeze.

Ugh . . .

Because they appear not to be paying enough attention to driving, maybe?

The worst, though, is passing some big fat hillbilly with his nasty bare foot out the window while his equally hideous wife is driving.

Probably this. I mean, if you got an arm floppin out, I would think that would greatly delay reaction time.

I drive with my arm resting most of the time.

Resting is acceptable as long as the hand remains inside.

That haircut, on the other hand...

I enjoy grabbing people's arms that just stick them straight out as I drive by or when I'm stopped at a light. The reactions are quite enjoyable.

Considering I drive primarily with my left hand, I can't do this. However, I to like to stick my arm out the window and let it go with the breeze if I am a passenger.

Yeah when I was a kid I knew this guy who did that and rolled his SUV and he had to spend like a month or two with the palm of his hand attached to his inner thigh to get the skin to grow back, or something, iirc..lol.

No, out here in CA, it's the women who rest their feet up on the dashboard, to get sun or something. That bugs me.

That car accident is going to suck.

Heh, unless I'm completely stopped I have one or both hands on the wheel (I drive a 5 speed), or one hand on the wheel and the other on the stick when doing some spirited driving (you can call it reckless, if you like).

Hanging extremities out windows, putting your legs where they don't belong, chatting on your phone, or texting, well, that's idiot territory there. I don't care who you are, put your hands on the wheel, your feet in the appropriate location, and pay some attention to the matter at hand, namely driving.

I don't even like my wife touching me when I drive. And no, I'm not talking hand jobs ya pervs, I'm talking just touching my arm or something along those lines.

I "rest" at 10 and 2. That doesn't mean I'm always at 10 and 2, but that's my return place. So I might have an elbow out, or on the manual shift or stereo, or even periodically do the one hand at 12, but most of the time is spent at 10 and 2. I tend to think of how I will fair in the accident depending on where my parts are. That's why I don't air my junk out the window any more when I get a bit sweaty. And I can only imagine the pain of a collision when you have your foot on the dash.

This is what sunroofs were made for. =)

I have the same problem, if I open my window, it blows my part to shreds. On a nice day, on my way home from work down the back roads.. I frequently don't mind, though.
