The Glade 4.0

Not. I just can't run away from the Strawberry Festival.

The location I've lived at for the past 2 years and change is precipitously close to the town square. Whenever there would be an event on the Square, we'd get held hostage by blocked streets and/or hopeless street parking (walking six blocks to park during such an event would not be uncommon). The worst of these, of course, is the 3 day Strawberry Festival each year.

So, my new house is not near the square. I thought I'd gotten away from the Strawberry Festival's making coming and going from my house a nightmare for a weekend a year. And I just got back from feeding my cat (who has moved in before me) today, where I found a notice from the city.. My new house is smack dab in the middle of the staging area for Saturday's parade, which will close my street for several hours. Argh! At least I have a driveway/garage there, and don't have to park on the street...

That reminds me of when Lollapalooza was 1 mile from my home. For the entire weekend, it was practically impossible to take the road out of my neighborhood in the direction of the fairground. We had to turn onto the road the other way, go down a few miles, then detour way around the whole area.

Oh, they are. I have nothing against the Festival itself (unlike DFK!, hehe), and this'll be the third year I've volunteered in some capacity for it.

It'd make a good day trip for Ohioans/Michigan folks if they had one off, hehe.

schedule says it's this weekend, June 5-6. I work both days.

I'm gonna have to buy some strawberries now, I have a craving !
