I had like a twilight zone odd day yesterday. The night before, at work, a friend and I were talking. We always joke about how when people see us together that there will be rumors that we are sleeping together and that I got her pregnant. That conversation apparently carried over into my dreams that night. I dreamed that she was pregnant and that she declared me the baby's daddy. I remember being very confused in the dream and was pretty sure that I couldn't have got her pregnant because we had never had sex which, if memory serves me correctly, is (absent medical intervention) a requirement. I was also thinking though that she is my friend and I adore her and if she wanted me to be the baby's daddy, well, I always said if she needed something, all she had to do was ask. It was a little bit more then I was expecting but what the heck, it was a dream. In the dream, as soon as word got out that I was the baby's daddy, other women started coming out of the woodwork also declaring that I was the father of their yet unborn kids. There was like six or seven declarations in the dream and I was seriously starting to sweat bullets. The dream ended when a very pregnant looking male friend also said that I was the father of his child. F*ck that! I am not your baby's daddy brother! That just weirded me out. It was at that point I woke up still feeling a little disoriented and overwhelmed. I grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down at the computer. While checking FB, the wife of a friend of mine hits me up on the chat function. I don't really know her that well but her husband and I have been friends for quite a few years. I know they have recently been having problems in their relationship and it appeared she had probably been drinking. The conversation was OK to start out with. I remained neutral in response to her discussing their problems but then I got the following: Her: Tolyn .... Me: Yes? Her: I just wanted to tell you that I've always found you attractive. Me: Uh, how much have you had to drink? Her: Tolyn .... Me: Because, I'm not really sure this is an appropriate conversation to have. Her: Tolyn ... Me: Yes? Her: I love you. Me: That's uh, a little tragic actually. You know I'm married and my wife is a really good shot right? Her: Tolyn ... Me: Err ... really, I think you've said enough. Her: I want to have your baby. Me: OK, scary. I definitely need to go now. Quite literally I panicked. It was too close to my dream and the whole conversation took on a surreal quality. It was just freakin' odd. While I subscribe to the theory that if God is watching, we should at least be entertaining, I'm not sure I appreciate the fact that this joke is fully at my expense. |

I bet you that you talk in your sleep, and your wife put her up to this. |

I read it as though he logged on to Facebook immediately after waking up. Interesting theory, though. |

Yeah, that's about when I would tell my friend that his wife came on to me and let them deal with it. |

Stathol wrote: I read it as though he logged on to Facebook immediately after waking up. Interesting theory, though. It wasn't too long after I woke up. Standard routine, fix a pot of coffee and make myself a cup, check email, then FB and the boards. Khross wrote: I bet you that you talk in your sleep, and your wife put her up to this. I am overseas and I doubt my wife would be this devious. She's a pretty straight forward kind of gal. I don't think it was someone else behind the keyboard. We talked about some of the problems her and her husband have been having before this came up. He's cheated on her so I think that was probably the motivation behind all of this. A tit for tat kind of thing. She's hurting so she thinks if she gets pregnant by one of her husband's friends that it will even the playing field. If I were to inquire, I'm guessing I would find out that his little side thing is pregnant. Just a hunch as I haven't really talked to him since coming over here. Generally speaking, I probably would have handled it differently if it hadn't come on the heels of the dream. By itself, the dream was just a little quirky and amusing. The thing on FB was just sad. Together though, and they freaked me out. |

In these situations, the Facebook conversation would actually just be a false ending to the dream. However, I wonder what she expects you to do if you are overseas? |
