It's so aptly named. I've put in over 68 hours this week included 16 on Sat and 8 today. I hate life. |

I think Labor Day should extend to ALL areas of labor (save for the emergency services, of course), considering why the holiday was established in the first place. This goes especially for retail. I mean, come on, you can go without that new oven or laptop for one friggin' day. |

If a privately owned business wants to be open on a certain day, why should the government force it to do otherwise? |

My stepdaughter asked us if Labor Day was for pregnant ladies. She was serious. It was pretty funny. Sorry you have to work so much, Raf. Hope you get to rest and have some free time soon. |

Why in the world do you think it would be a good idea to prohibit retailers from being open on one of their highest selling days of the year? Do you think that would be good or bad for that business' profitability, and ability to employ people? |

Yes mook but I don't think businesses are forced to be closed on certain holidays/Sundays (at least no in this country). It just happens many choose to be. I'm against blue laws at the federal level for the most part. |

Well I only say that as a former retail employee who had to work those days, putting up with bratty kids and ***** parents. So I guess my stance on that is a bit biased. EDIT: Realistically tho, yes I realize that Labor Day is a golden egg for retailers. |

Well yes, but that's what your job is in retail, and there were so many people there those days because everyone else has the day off, which is why there are such good sales and so much business done on Labor Day... without that business you might not have had a job at all. |

It should be up to the businesses if they want to be open or not. |
