...DOES NOT MAKE YOU A GRAPHIC DESIGNER. THERE IS A SPECIAL PLACE IN HELL RESERVED FOR THOSE WHO **** UP BRANDING AND POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS AS MUCH AS YOU JUST DID. ON A TWENTY-SEVEN PAGE DOCUMENT, NO LESS.

Would it be unethical of you to show an example? I'm just trying to imagine the heinousness involved, here.

If doing so would require divulging trade secrets, or overtly identifiable information you're not comfortable sharing, no problem. I just want to share the joy if you can.

And, I'll bet it ran at least 25 MB, and it had to be emailed around at least five times, right?!

Just because you have MS Project on your computer and you put together a schedule does not mean you are a project manager.

Khross, Powerpoint has some incredibly useful tools for organizing information for presentation and keeping interest focused. The issue is people make it the focus instead of keeping the focus on themselves as the speaker.

Have to agree with Elmo here. Powerpoint is a tool. Getting all angsty over it is like getting all angsty over the gun involved in a shooting instead of the shooter.

No, see, you guys don't work in universities wherein students have been forced to give PowerPoint presentations for the better part of the last 15 years. Consequently, these students have no honest idea how to give a presentation with any authority.

But Powerpoint is from Microsoft, and being able to use to it gives them authority.

Its like wearing a badge.

It is a place of learning. Maybe you need to show them where to find the clip art. Presentations with authority? Clip art's got you covered.

No, but I am in the Army where we have your students outclassed in PowerPoint Angst by about 10 to 1.

I fail to see where using PowerPoint has any causative effect on someone's ability to present with authority. That seems to be a lack of education or training on how to present, regardless of what tools you're using.

Yeah, I posted it.

The really bad part of that slide isn't even the spaghetti on it. Look at the bottom right corner.

I think what he's trying to say is that students are being taught to make powerpoint slides rather that getting education and training on how to present. I can see this happening; I've seen plenty of briefings where someone stands there and reads the slides.
