So we're sitting in the den watching TV, washing clothes and waiting on my parents, who are coming up from Alabama for the weekend to visit. I notice that the sound of running water seems slightly loud, but it didn't register with me at first because this is the first time we've run the washer in the new house. I got up to check, and my pace quickened as I neared the washer and realized something was wrong. I rounded the corner and passed into the dark kitchen, and my brain picked up on the dim but unnatural sheen on the floor a split second too late.

The water from the washer had coated the floor nearly an inch deep, and my heel failed to make purchase on the tile floor. Down I went with all the kinetic energy my frankly large frame could muster, as well as possibly some borrowed from nearby inanimate objects. First point of contact was the area between my left *** cheek and my back. Worse though was the secondary impact, that felt like it happened with all the energy of the first: the crown of my head making incredibly solid contact with the floor.

Holy crap OW.

Been there, done that or close variation anyway. Twisted both ankles and bruised my ribs on the fall.

Condolences and take care of yourself.

Hopefully you just bruised your "ego"

I have busted mine several times. Never fun.

Hope you have a wet vac ;) If not, I'd go with the Craftsman from Sear's. Get the one with rollers......9 gallon (mine was around $50)

Yeah, definitely a major owie.

Hope you didn't damage anything and you don't have a concussion.

Oh, and go see a doctor, a possible concussion is not to be ignored.

I appreciate. I've been watching myself really closely (SUPER closely last night...particularly between Phe and my mom being here :D) for any possible signs of concussion. I haven't seen any so far, but I'm still going to keep a lookout for several days. Mainly I'm just sore as all hell, literally from my feet to my head and everything in between. The rest of me, aside from the bruises on my head and assback, feels mainly like I just finished the most grueling workout EVER. The only places that are really annoyingly painful though are the sides of my neck, strained, I guess, from the shock and craning as I was going down to try to prevent head impact (EPIC FAIL HERE).

Oh FarSky I know your pain all to well! Wasn't washing machine water, but dog drool on a hardwood floor, mixed with my bare feet and speed I was walking...down I went like a ton of bricks on my left hip and arm! Knocked the wind right out of me...scared the heck out of my hubby and son.

I second (or third) the idea that you see your doctor about a concussion...don't mess with your brain, young man!! Glad you didn't break anything but know you will be quite sore for a little while!

/hugs
