I send my resume in late last night. Got called this morning for an interview. Went to the interview. Came home. About 2 hours later I get a call, "Hey. You have a job now. Be at work 8 am tomorrow." There goes all my plans of playing Dragon Age 2 well into tomorrow evening. |

On the plus side: you have money to buy Dragon Age II! |

Yeah. It's kind of a joke. I mean...I really want to play Dragon Age 2, but a load has been lifted from my shoulders now that I am back among productive members of society. |

Yup, much better to be a productive member of society playing Dragon Age 2, than a less-than-productive member of society playing Dragon Age 2. |

Employer: Hey. You have a job now. Be at work 8 am tomorrow. Raltar: Hey can I get a couple of days off? Employer: Surely you can't be serious. Raltar: But Dragon Age 2 just came out. And don't call me Shirley. Employer: Dragon Age 2? Sure, take the rest of the week off. And I like your sense of humor. I'm giving you a raise. |

Day number one went fairly well...except my schedule before was staying up till 3am and getting up around 1 or 2. I didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night, but I have a strong feeling I'm gonna fall asleep pretty easily tonight. |

Good deal Raltar; I was really hoping you wouldn't post: "I couldn't do it, I needed to play DAII, I quit..." |

Well ****. I just got a call and they feel that I'm not really working out and they are going with someone else. So, yeah. Don't have a job anymore. And here I thought I did a good job. *sigh* Back to the drawing board, I guess. |

Wtf? What kinda place was this? In hindsight, their behavior isn't very surprising when they found out about you and hired you in less than 24 hours. |

This is like on the same level as ordering a pizza delivery to someone else's address. |

I was bathing dogs. I kinda knew it wasn't going to be a full time position because she mostly needed help because her normal bather had been out sick and had not contacted her recently. But she said I'd be staying on for at least 3 days a week(which is a whole lot better than the absolutely no job that I had going for me before). But still...if I wasn't doing well today, why the **** didn't she say anything while I was there? I still get paid for today. $80 is better than nothing, I suppose. |

See, shoulda stayed in California, where you would just sue for breach of contract. But, yeah, that's shitty, no doubt about it. If she had said something before you started, like, "let's see how this works out before we go permanent, etc.", that would be one thing. Probably one of those things where this is a sign that you probably don't want to work for her anyway. |
