People who work next to you that literally do "Laugh Out Loud," and do so often as they are constantly IMing throughout the day. Either this person is the easiest audience in the world, or they are best buds with Jim Gaffigan, Patton Oswalt, and Lewis Black.

Come on. It's not hard to laugh silently. The funniest thing I've ever seen on the web that brought me to tears - I did so in utter silence.

Have some courtesy for those around you!

Try asking them what is so funny so you can share in the joke...they will either get the hint after a few times, or you will get to laugh too because maybe it really is that funny. :)
Sad, sad world when someone else's expressions of happiness become someone else's annoyance.
Lighten up and go google baby farts or fat people falling or something.

I don't mind people laughing. Hell, I pride myself in being the person to instigate it in most scenarios.

But in a place of work, constant laughter is a distraction to others. Especially when the source of it is not work related.

In this instance, there is little I can do. I was promoted recently and am the new kid on the block in this department. I'd rather not stir up the pot, as it were. But the plus side is, this person usually works from home.

And for this person, that sometimes is every 30 seconds.

Does that mean no more football pranks on your old cube buddy? I bet he's stoked!

That lasted 2 minutes tops. And if the person next to me only did it for 2 minutes, once a year (hell, once a day), I wouldn't be posting here.

This would bother me. I cover my mouth and stifle it if something is making me laugh.
