No-No #1 Just because you have complete access to the intercom all day is no need to use it every 10 minutes and
interrupt my class.
No-No # 2 Screaming into the intercom for the children you are trying to get to come to the front office does not mean
they will walk any faster to the office and most of the children you are yelling for have good hearing, unlike
yourself who must wear hearing aides as we have to yell at you.
No-No # 3 Please do not carry on morning announcements for more then 15 minutes. This is cutting into my 1st period class
and talking begins to ripple through them.
No-No #4 Lastly, Please do not give the pass lock for the intercom to the children. Hide it from them on your desk and do
not leave it sitting next to the phone. Having children pretend that they are the secretary or principal is very
annoying during the day and again interrupts my class.

Ok, number 4 sounds like it has some potential for humor.
The rest sound annoying...
When is the PA system going to officially be outdated? We have much better alternatives now...when I was in high school, (and that was 15 years ago!), our morning announcements were done via television, and it's not like we had a huge budget either...we did it on the cheap.
I would think that schools could move to something like that and then use the intranet system for all other announcements and use the intercom for emergencies only?

Cheap school. Oonagh and her coteachers have to supply their own printer paper. I doubt they are likely to spend on a closed circuit television setup for the school.

Wow....they've gotta be cheap...we had a cheap high school 15 years ago and we had the technology then when it was still relatively new...so many years later, it should be super affordable.

I don't see any mention of feedback, so you're fine. They didn't hurt anything. All of those problems you mentioned can be solved by unplugging the power cable.

I wish I could unplug the damn thing. Others in the building hate all the interruptions as well. As of right now at 2:45, we have had 21 Interruptions. Sports buses called, students leaving early, classroom questions for me. It is really starting to just get tiresome.

That's why they make wire cutters. ;)

Wire cutters are too blunt. That results in one of two things. Either a new machine gets brought in or they get a new power cable (depending on the design of the machine).

Instead, she wants to get ahold of a wall adapter:

Do some digging and see if you can't find a prank wall adapter that grounds the power line. (Otherwise you have to do some tinkering to make one). Then it looks like normal, and nobody could guess that the intercom isn't actually plugged in. Whenever Oonagh wants, she could just remove the prank plug and everything works the way it's supposed to. Oonagh can pick a few days each week for the intercom not to work.

If Oonagh plays her cards right, she can stretch that out for years without anyone figuring out the machine's broke, and buying a new intercom. They'll just think they're idiots who can't make it work right. Even when they do get a new machine, she'll still have the prank plug.

Depends on which wire you cut ;)
