So, I had an interview today. Except I had work today also. I'd much rather have the job I applied for. I was sick this week and have 6 of 7 points for attendance and if I wanted to make this interview I'd hit the limit and I'd have to be let go. I went to the interview and I don't even think it went that well. Such is life, I suppose. Oh well. I'll find out if I got the new job by Monday, but I'm not getting my hopes up. |

What did you do? Call in sick for your current job, to go to the interview? Did that mean you are fired? |

I asked for a few hours off while I was at work. I said I wasn't feeling well and needed to head home. They said if I missed more than 30 minutes of work(since I had been out 2 days this week already) I would be let go. I couldn't reschedule the interview because the position was going to be filled by Monday, so I gave them my stuff and told them later because I had a good feeling about the interview which I really shouldn't have. It was a very poor mistake on my part. |

Didn't you just get that job? |

Hrm, so you threw away a job you haven't had very long, hoping to get a good interview for a future job? Sounds kinda foolish on your part imho. Nothing personal, but I would have kept the current paycheck and made interviews around that schedule. What will you live off other than any savings you may have? |

It's fine. I knew I would get the kind of response I'm getting because I needed more reinforcement on how bad of a decision it was. Or at least I thought it was because I actually got the job anyway and start on Monday. |

You get the benefit of the life lesson (bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, or however you want to phrase it) the day of panic taught you, so that next time you'll go more out of your way to not put yourself in that situation, and you also get to improve your job as well. I'm glad it worked out that way for you. |

And is it going to allow you to respond to my campaign more frequently? |

It's for a graveyard shift kennel tech for a pet resort(so I should be able to respond more to your campaign). Much better than being a customer care agent. Pay is the same, but I won't hate my life every day I wake up because of my job. |
