is this sh*t right here:

Quote:

Them: . . .do you know what your hours are gonna be for thanksgiving day are you working that night?
Me: i'm off on thanksgiving
Them: So off the whole day or go in at 5?

GRRRRRRRAAAAGGGGGGH

Damnit. This is so annoying. I'm off Thanksgiving. Period. End of story. No further explanation should be required, ever.

Just because I work a night shift Sunday through Thursday does not mean I enter into some kind of time warp and time and days suddenly have a different meaning.

If I say I dont work on Thursday, it simply means I have the f*cking day off on Thursday and I'm not going into work on Thursday.

...my personal favorite:

Quote:
Me: "Thursday is my last day before the weekend"

Them: "Oh so today is your Friday!!!!"

NO GOD DAMMIT! It's F*CKING THURSDAY. TOMORROW IS FRIDAY. F*CK YOU.

Sunday isn't "My Monday" either. It's Sunday. ***!

Psh. At my job, working Thanksgiving night shift means working on Wednesday night

I worked 3rd shift for a year once. I understand the confusion.

People are dumb. This is not limited to talking about night shift, either.

The last time I did shift work, working any part of the day on Thanksgiving you got Over Time Pay and Holiday Pay: they paid you for 30 hours to work 8.

No joke, when I worked that job, I would work Christmas Eve through New Year's Day. It was 8 consecutive days of Over Time and Holiday Pay. And it got really fun if I took 12 hour shifts, because the last 4 hours of any given shift was another multiplicative overtime bonus.

First 8 hours = 30 hours of Pay
Last 4 Hours = 22.5 hours of Pay

52.5 x 8 Days = 420 Hours of pay, or 10.5 weeks.

And then I still got my 8 days paid holiday pay to use at my own discretion.

The worst part is, it gets lonely working when everyone is out in the evening, and sleeping when everyone is awake.

And so true, no one ever knows your schedule. They call you during the day and act surprised you are in bed.

I used to sign up to work the overnight on Easter because I got Sunday pay, shift dif, holiday pay AND pay whether I worked or not. Amusingly, they called me in to work an extra shift that week too, which put the whole mess on overtime.

Add to that list of "worsts"......
1. Always being hungry at 2am, even when you aren't working.
2. Being blinded by the Sun when you leave work, because you are a vampire.

Lol yep) I'm used to eating "dinner" at 2 am )

You never have a traditional food schedule. Thats why I live by the microwave, I can't imagine eating a meal with more than one item, except when I go out to a restaurant.

Maybe some day :)

I do love getting home in the morning when the sun is coming up and the dew is sparkling on the grass, best time ever to relax and go for a run, helps sleep immensely.

I get hungry at 1AM...2AM is when they close the cafeteria. But I hear ya on the food schedule, Kirra. I tend to eat only twice on the nights I work.

One thing I like is that I'm opposite the rush hour traffic flows going to and from work.

This. Plus, my wife has to try to keep the kids quiet, especially the baby so I can sleep and function at work. That's hard on her. Especially the baby, who always screams at the worst times. Plus I'm grumpy from being tired all the time. Plus my 5 year old comes home from school and then I have to go to bed so I see her like half an hour on those days.

It also sucks on your days off because either you sleep during the day and miss everything that's going on, or you sleep at night and mess your sleep schedule up. I always end up sleeping at night so my wife and I can sleep together at least a couple nights.

Not entirely sure yet.

Lets just say that corporations don't like when 1 man becomes more powerful then they are because they have the balls to speak out.

So to them I'm now what is to be considered a "liability"

I'm guessing the police were there only because they know I get real f*cking pissed.

This is actually what I wanted to happen, just not for a few more months.

This is also the best thing that's ever happened to me.

I will never work for a corporation again. I will never have a J.O.B. (just over broke) again. I will never let my life be controlled like it was, ever again. I will never let anyone f*cking talk to me the way those f*cks did.

I like how the company completely ignored their true problems and had management had their heads up their asses. I also like how everyone that works there is complacent with a side of cognitive dissonance. F*cking pole smokers.

Be aware, it's unlikely you'll get unemployment after being fired.

That's fine. I'll still try to apply, but whatever.
