Accepted a new job at end of December, leaving military airplanes to return to commercial to do something almost completely different (switching from airworthiness to design engineering). Found out today that Wichita facility is closing by end of 2013. My current job is moving to Oklahoma. Good timing on my part. Unfortunately, I have been defined as a "critical skill" so I will be sticking around for at least another 90 days, when I was planning on transitioning at the end of the month.

Still, I managed to dodge a pretty mean bullet.

Congrats. I had meant to follow up and see what you had decided a bit later this month, guess you saved me the PM.

My job, while based in Seattle, is tied to the Wichita site. With the closure of
Wichita, I am being relocated (consolidated) to Oklahoma City. Except that I accepted a job in Renton (5 miles or so from my current job site) in the nick of time.
