Quote:
Emergency responders rush to the scene of a major accident in Palmview Tuesday night.

At least nine people are reported dead, and police believe the death toll is expected to rise.

The accident happened just after 10:35 p.m. on Minnesota Road heading east bound on Expressway 83 frontage road.

One man who witnessed the crash told Action 4 News once the van lost control “bodies just started flying out” of the van.

Sources told Action 4 News the U.S. Border Patrol and Palmview Police were conducting a routine traffic stop on Green Road when the driver of a van suddenly took off.

The eyewitness told Action 4 News the unidentified driver sped off swerving, narrowly missing vehicles on the frontage road.

The driver then reportedly slammed into a ramp on the frontage road, a trashcan and reportedly flipped three times.

Palmview Police Investigator Lenny Sanchez said 20 people were inside the van at the time of the crash.

At midnight, at least 9 were reported dead and at least one person was detained.

At least six others were taken to a local hospital including two critically injured.

Police confirm at least three survived, but managed to get away.

Palmview police told Action 4 News they have shut down portion of Expressway 83 and the frontage road in effort to reconstruct the accident.

I was at this one; we were the first unit there after the wreck, besides the ones that tried to make the traffic stop. This ******* tried to run and flipped the minivan almost immidiately.

When we got there, there were bodies - dead ones - lying all over the **** place. Some of them were a good 50 feet from the van. Most of them were clearly dead, and the ones that weren't were.. beyond my ability to help. A supervisor who is an EMT was there already, he was asking for more EMTs. One showed up right after we got there and started backboarding one of the survivors. There were three women, all of them survived, but one had both legs broken and we had to turn them around so they weren't looking at the dead.

One poor **** was.. well, **** it, his brains were coming out, mixed with blood. He was face down.

You know, these asshoels come to this country to get work. Yes, they're bad for our economy, and yes, they are not all just honest, hardworking people, and yes, I firmly believe we ought to catch them and deoprt their asses.

But you **** know what? **** these peiple that smuggle them. They don;t give a flying **** about whether they are alive for **** dead when they get where they want to be and they'll sell some youbng girl that wants to join her illegal family here into prostitution in a heartbeat so she can get **** int he *** until she "pays her debt."

None of these people deserved to die even if tye are **** that have no repsect for our laws or our coutry. They're mostly just undeducated ignorant **** that come hear becuase they can get **** inthe *** here for $4 an hour instead of $1 an hour, with notihn but a damn toothbrush to their name. They don't deserve to be laying their dead with their brains oozing all over the pavmemnent, or in the hospital with 2 broken legs. The taxpaters don't deserve to foot the bill for this bullsit.

Excuse the typing I pousored a big *** glass of whiskey and H2O when I got home and I'm habing another before I got o bed. Not the first death scene I've been too, but the worst. These basatards wereb't even in a war zone and ther's 9 of them kissing pavement.

Thanks. The booze was kind of hitting me by the time I got around to typing that. I decided I better skip the second glass and go to bed.

Wow, DE, sorry you had to witness that. Well said, even through the alcohol.

Foamy's right, sounds like this one really hit you hard (understandably so). Not that I want to make it worse, but, don't hesitate to talk to someone if you need to. We're here to listen, of course, but professionals can help, too.

How many were killed in the accident and how many were dead before hand?

DE, hope you find the strength to move forward as best you can. I know you will but hope you find it sooner than later.

Read about this in the TX online papers. Your report matches and exceeds what little they had. Hugs if you take those, and do check to see if the Department offers trauma counseling.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. I won't be going to any counselling,I feel much better today. I wasn't there when it happened and if there was I couldn't have done anything about it. I don't know about the agents that tried to make the traffic stop though. I think the main thing that was bothering me was the fact that it was worse than Iraq. When I came back from there, I assumed I'd never see anything that bad again unless I went back and well.. that turned out not to be the case.

I heard on the radio a 15 year old boy was driving and is being charged with nine counts of murder because of this. Hopefully he's smart enough to roll on the real criminals. Either way his life as he knew it is likely over. Kinda sad in its own way.

I had a long weekend due to drill and this was just one of many possibilities being tossed around on thursday.

As for the "real criminals", you'd be amazed. A lot of the guides and mules are juveniles and they know exactly what they're into. The cartels seek them out because most of the time, they get a slap on the wrist or a voluntary return to Mexico

Supposedly his family was threatened and he was coerced, but that just could be spin.

Either way the trafficking network is going to be really upset and him and his family and the best way to keep them all safe would be with the government help even if that means relocation. If he's a Mexican (nationally), I don't know what kind of cooperation we'd expect to get on finding those people anyway.
