Went to CO to get my spring lines in. Unfortunately, got hurt. Wanted to ride Park Lane @ Breck but got hurt on day 1. No broken bones.

I think Raf snowboards, but yeah. What are we looking at, there, a dislocated elbow or something? (Hmm. Are elbows something that can dislocate? Or is that reserved for ball joints?) Torn ACL? I'm pretty sure that's an elbow, and it looks pretty clear that things aren't lining up right, but I'm not a sports-y or medicine-y guy to know what that corresponds to...

Ditto on what Kaffis said...

That appears to be an arm, and it doesn't quite look lined up correctly.

That would be the extent of my radiological knowledge.

That looks like a separated elbow.

ACL is soft tissue and doesn't show up on x-rays. I do however, have video of my ruptured ACL prior to replacement.

Well, yes. But the ACL is the ligament that's supposed to hold the joint together, right? I mean, I'm making this assumption, here, because, as I said, it's not an injury I pay much attention to. But I know ligaments connect bone to bone, and the ACL is an elbow injury, right? So it kind of follows... in my head, at least.

ACL is knee, not elbow.

ACL is one of several ligaments in the knee. It's chief function is to prevent the femur from sliding forward of the lower leg, especially when walking down hill. It also provides side to side stability to the knee joint.

Also, it's possible to rupture the ligament without dislocating the joint, which is what I did. I would assume it's also possible to dislocate a joint without tearing ligaments

Going to have to say that I believe this is possible. I think that is what I did and didn't even realize it.

When I went to see the doctor about my weak right arm/shoulder (turned out to be a torn rotator cuff), he took note of my other left shoulder and said that it was a 2nd degree separation. I've lost no range of motion with it, the joint pops and clicks more that it did, but there doesn't seem to be any lasting damage.

Yes it was my elbow. My arm was basically going backwards and I was afraid it was broken. I go see the doctor tomorrow. I hope to rehab isn't too bad.

My right shoulder makes similar disturbing noises, and my wife has to hear about it too.
