I think I've contracted it. I got some new Magpul junk and a flash suppressor I need to install. I'm still shopping between the EOTech and Aimpoint red dot sights. Get to break her in tomorrow or Monday. |

Nice. I shot an AR-15 for the first time this weekend. Way fun and now on my shopping list of things to buy before I die. Probably sooner rather than later. |

It seems as long as you look at a quality rifle or make a good build from quality parts and limit your budget on accessories, they aren't that expensive to own and shoot. It's the accessories and aftermarket parts that will blow up your wallet. I just dropped over 5 bills on an EOTech EXPS2 RDS. |

As far as hobbies, I would rank it way more expensive initially than snowboarding but cheaper "operational" costs. Waaaaay cheaper than being a motorcyclist. |

I don't have a flat top I was thinking of buying a new upper but then why not just get a new lower and get a new rifle... |

I spent over $2k alone in gear (helmet, boots, gloves, jacket, pants). Insurance is $60 a month flat. Most people don't own a bike worth $500-1000. I paid like $6500 cash for my R6 factoring in all the fees and taxes and spent another $2000 on parts. Tank held like 3.8 gallons and was lucky to go 150 miles on it. The equivalent in motorcycling to what you're talking about would be like purchasing a $100 Mosin Nagant and shooting the surplus manufactured 7.62x54R's or shooting 22LR which costs like $20 to shoot for hours and hours. You could buy a S&W M&P15-22 for example (which I plan to do) and it's incredibly cheap to buy and operate. |
