Are a very good thing. They saved my life thismorning when my wife totaled my car when we were car-pooling to work.

I was knocked out briefly and don't remember much about the accident, but managed to walk away with only a concussion, a seperated shoulder, a sprained neck, and superficial injuries like bruises and lacerations.

The ER doctors told me the seatbelt saved my life.

OMG! So glad you are alive and semi-well...those have got to be painful injuries....and I came here to complain about a cortisone shot into my knee. Life puts things into perspective in the most curious ways.

Feel better soon Rynar.

/hugs

Rynar-1 Death-0

Glad you are okay.

edit: Keep an eye on your neck for a while. Whiplash is a PITA and shows up after the fact. Hopefully they did a c spine xray. If not, or if you have problems, might want to get one (another one) just to be safe.

I saw a dude walk in to the ER once, who had a wreck a week before........had a fractured c spine that could have slipped at any moment and paralyzed him. Instant halo and trip to the floor for post op. And sometimes those little fractures won't show up immediately after an accident. :(

Get well soon, and good luck!

Wow, glad to hear you were wearing a seatbelt and came out (more or less) OK. How'd your wife do?

(And, heh, I was thinking of posting a thread about idiot drivers today, too. Some guy in an old Cooper Mini cut a blind corner a little too close today and came about a foot getting pushed off the side of the hill by my minivan. I come to a complete, sudden stop, honk and gesture, and what do I get? The finger. **** people.)

Heh. In retrospect it probably made me look douchey not to mention her after pointing out that she had also been in the accident. The reason I didn't is because she, and everyone else involved, walked away without even a scratch.

Thank you for inquiring about her well being. I greatly appriciate it.

Glad you're doing all right, Rynar! Watch the spine, and the concussion.

Glad you're alright.

Seatbelts are easy to take for granted. I got in a head-on collision and walked away. It wasn't until later when someone mentioned my seatbelt that I really considered how bad that would had I not been wearing it.

Thanks again for all the well wishes guys, it means an awful lot.

I'm doing well. The neck and shoulder are beginning to feel a bit better, and at this point I'm mostly just feeling stiff and sore. I've still got a good bit of light sensitivity, and a pretty good headache, and I'm feeling a bit foggy, but I'm not disoriented anymore. All in all, I'd call my progress steady. I'm encouraged.

Latest injury report has Rynar out 6-8 weeks with a concussion. Coaches are considering putting him on IR.
