After six weeks of sheer agony, yesterday my doctor put me through more agony by giving me a cortisone shot into my left knee. Thank you Doctor!! What a relief! I finally was able to sleep through the night painfree for the first time in weeks. I was able to go shopping painfree for the first time in weeks. I'm painfree as I type this. I pray to all that is holy and good that this lasts for a long time. May none of you ever get shingles or postherpetic neuralgia!! Believe me when I say it is NOT fun.

Grats!
Not sure how long those shots last, but they don't last forever.

I've only had that done once, after I tried to see if I could kill my left knee via falling, busting up my patella, dislocating it to the side of my leg, and tearing my acl. Was fun!

My father has had many shots in his shoulder. They last a few months from what he told me, then he goes back for another......

best wishes with it

I can only imagine how amazing it must feel to suddenly be pain free after dealing with something serious for a long time.

Enjoy.

Man, I am REALLY slow on the uptake...

I just now got what you said, Rynar.

Just a quick update..still have some pain, but mostly very minor and bearable with the occasional sharp, severe pain in my knee. Doctor and I can't figure out why the knee, x-rays show very minor wear and tear for a woman of my age. Oh, well..the vicodin has been giving me some very interesting dreams at least.

Several years ago, I was having similar knee pain with no indication of a problem showing on x-rays or MRI. I had it scoped and the doctor discovered a fat deposit in the joint. He cut that out and I had no further problems until I blew out my ACL last year.

Hmmm...something to at least discuss with my doctor. Thank you Kairtane.
