Just a bit of a survey to see if anyone else has had the same experience...

Kentucky Fried Chicken.

I never leave that place without checking my order first anymore. IMO their mashed potatoes are disgusting. I never order them. In addition, I think their cole slaw is really good. I can't tell you how many times I order a meal with cole slaw and they give me mashed potatoes instead. Ask for Original Recipe? Screw you, here's extra crispy.

I've noticed this at several different KFCs. I swear they get my order wrong more than they get it right.

I have a theory called the "Service Breakpoint".

Basically it is the given dollar amount of an order where something *will* be wrong.

There was this taco bell where I used to work (2000 or so)that was fine if the order was less than $15. Any more than that, and *something* was going to be wrong. The Wendy's that was around there had a breakpoint of $18, and the McDonalds was $23 or so.

Sounds like your KFC has a breakpoint of $5 ;)

McD's but I usually catch it on the screen and its normally pretty minor (accidentally hit two drinks)

Interesting. I've been to Taco Bell many many times and I can't think of a single time they've got it wrong.

Last time I went to McDs I ordered something that was $4.07. I gave the person $5.10. She gave me 93 cents. A whole handful of change (which is what I was trying to avoid in the first place). I told her it was the wrong amount of change and she looked at me like I was crazy. Then the supervisor got involved and didn't know what the hell was going on. In my frustration I was like "The bill was $4.07, I gave you $5.10, just give me a $1.03 back! It's not that hard!".

So she gave me the 93 cents back and added another dime.

Taco Bell. Most common mistake, do you want any hot sauce? No. Well, here, have a double handful anyway. I don't use their hot sauce packets, really poor hot sauce.

I once received 23 sauce packets for 3 tacos.

My brother's friend used to have a stash of Taco Bell sauce packets because of this.

23 sauce packets is good for 7 tacos.

As my contribution to this thread, I'd have to say they all get it wrong equally often. Of course, there are places that Oonagh and I go regularly and among them, they all seem to have their equal share of mess-ups.

Perhaps Chick-Fil-A may seem to make the most errors, but we go there often enough that our sampling is skewed.

For me, it's not by chain but by location.

Honestly, if you can **** up "plain cheeseburger," I'm not coming back.

This is a good theory, although it should be halved for using the drive through. Down here, it should be quartered if you use the drive through and don't order in Spanish.

I eat enough fast food to make my data statistically significant in our area.

Best, locally: Taco Bell. There are times where I think "there's no way in heck they heard what I said through that drive-thru speaker" but they always get it right. They're really friendly, almost every time we get service with a smile. The owner's grandmother often works the register. She once told me "Honey, don't waste your money on a large drink. Get a small, we have free refills." and then proceeded to give me the large cup anyway.

In descending order of accuracy:
Popeye's
Checkers
Burger King
KFC
Wendy's
Arby's

Worst, locally: McDonalds. I don't think they've ever gotten one of my orders completely correct. We drive five miles past this McDonalds, to the next town, if we have a Mickey D's craving.

I have never noticed any chain screwing up more than any of the others but in my experience certain neighborhoods mess your order up more than others.

Don't be the white guy who rolls through the black Burger King.

Are you suggesting that the black neighborhoods are racist, Hop?

Post subject:

Suggesting? Sorry thought I was stating it. I will expand though, never be the odd race in any ethnic neighborhood.
