So what?

You take intel where you get it. People like cabbies overhear talk; you take it and piece it together with everything else you have.

If you think the information a cabbie provides should be discounted just ebcause he's a mere cabbie, then you also shouldn't be offended if we disregard your opinions because you're a mere fencing instructor. After all, he's at least just regurgitating what he heard while you're providing opinion.

Hearsay is only valueless as legal evidence. Intelligence work is another matter entirely.

This thread started with one person implying a belief in faulty intel, through the linked OP story and thread title.

The debate is on the validity of that evidence, with me interjecting for fun.

You could look at it that way. I'd say, however, the cold hard fact is that you take the intel that's available.
