It is the gunner and the gun.

Making the gun aim and shoot on its own would not be hard. Target identification reliable enough for real-world employment would need to be much better than just "size and pattern of movement" and would require very extensive testing before being employed. Something like this could have use in certain situations, such as conducting a hasty or deliberate defense against an enemy coming from a known direction, but even there extreme caution would be needed.

The last I saw of the project which was about 9 months ago, maybe more, they had stored faces in it and it would recognize and not engage (in indoor lighting). The guy was making it for his apartment front door so it is extrodinarily static.

Drones are still booby traps, and are therefore federal crimes.

Regardless, this seems like an incredibly hazardous way to accomplish something you can do yourself with a shotgun.

Long time Standard SF tank equipment and building defense equipment. More ways in which SF is prophetic fiction.

Actually, the apartment-defense drone might be a good idea if you're expecting Xenomorphs.

Ive seen a few designs that have airsoft guns in them. I would assume same software but beefier turret to handle recoil. Also any fte ftf issues would put it out immediately.

This thread reminds me that my father once gave me a metal, almost completely circular ring (it was kind of in the shape of a lightbulb), about the size of a silver dollar. It was one of the main things that attached a missile/bomb to the F-16, and I believe is what was unhooked when they pressed fire. I don't remember exactly, but I do remember seeing a demonstration (on the jet itself) from my dad on how it's used to hook it under the wing of the jet.

It reminds me of that, and it reminds me that I was a dumb kid and lost it. That would have made a great sentimental keychain.

Need a different armament, one less prone to overheating since they attack in very large groups.

Everyone knows you have to nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Or, throw them through an airlock or something in a pinch.
