Gentlemen, though I know it pains you greatly to acknowledge that right wing luminaries like Pat are, in fact, very racist, terrible people, it's actually the case. There is a certain line that, if someone crosses it, they marginalize themselves. Pat has done so and continues to do so pretty much through his whole career. Case in point -

Pat wrote:
First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known.

So, essentially he's saying that Slavery was the best damn thing that ever happened to Africans. Yes, yes, he's just one hum dinger of a guy. Let's look for some more gems, shall we?
Quote:
"integration of blacks and whites -- but even more so, poor and well-to-do -- is less likely to result in accommodation than it is in perpetual friction, as the incapable are placed consciously by government side by side with the capable." (Washington Post, 1/5/92)

Here's Pat defending David Duke for wearing a Nazi Uniform -

Quote:
"Take a hard look at Duke's portfolio of winning issues and expropriate those not in conflict with GOP principles, [such as] reverse discrimination against white folks." (syndicated column, 2/25/89)

And some more refreshing stuff from this genius of a man, this paragon of conservative virtue, this patriot (this one regarding Apartheid, and his opposition to efforts to try and end it) -

Quote:
"white rule of a black majority is inherently wrong. Where did we get that idea? The Founding Fathers did not believe this." (syndicated column, 2/7/90)

Here is where, in order to make a derogatory statement about all blacks, Pat decides that we, the dear benevolent white folks, have handed all black people everything they ever needed, right on a silver platter -

Quote:
... Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the '60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.

The reason no one should take Pat seriously is that he's a deeply racist man of horrible character. If you can't see it, you need to do some serious soul searching about how far you are willing to defend someone simply because he says some things you like to hear.

Chris Rock has basically said the same thing. Is he racist?

Using the standards that Monte has applied time and time again.. No Chris Rock is not racist, he cannot be racist because he is not white.

I'm fine with you considering Pat to have marginalized himself. I'm not asking you to vote for him. I'm asking you to read *this* article from him, and respond *to the article*, not the man who wrote it and what he said 5-20 years ago, which isn't what we're talking about in this thread.

So because he is "allegedly" racist, anything he says about anything is automatically invalid? If he said Barack Obama is the current and 44th President of the United States of America, would that be invalidated?

Your logic stinks.
