We had a green party candidate elected to parliament last week during the federal election. Sure, it's only one seat, but it's their first seat. I'm no green, but if one is going to have political parties at all, more parties is better.

Orange is our "New Democrat Party" (always shortened to NDP.) They're the most left-leaning of our parties. They've never held power at the federal level. (They are currently the "official opposition," with more seats than the have ever had.) The liberals here are very centrist. Our last Liberal government under Jean Chretien balanced the budget for 10 years, payed down the national debt substantially, and cut taxes considerably.
