I mean ridiculous in the sense of stupid, not in the sense of "not true."

*puts hands up* I work for a big evil corporation who provides both preventative testing and medical devices used in patient care.

While evil, we do support doctor's rights to set their own pricing, and lobby to increase healthcare spending in government every year.

But than in Australia there is no mandate on what doctors could charge for their time, just the government rebate for each patient. If the doctor chose to charge more, they are free to do so, but may lose business to those which only charge the minimum.
