I'm just curious. If this is an inappropriate topic, let me know and the thread can be deleted.

I don't think it's a good idea for people to be either revealing their personal financial information here, nor do we need to have a salary dick-measuring contest.

Who has revealed what? This is not a competition and even as an administrator I can't see who voted or what for.

Yeh, I figured it was harmless.

We're all pretty solidly middle class anyway ;)

Money says we are mostly in the middle of the normal curve for salary distribution and household income in the United States.

I was making about $88k back in April, but then I reprioritized what I care about, and after some job shuffling and side work I'm now $145k-$170k+. It's hard to say for sure because the side job isn't a steady paycheck. These figures are counting bonuses and options.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was referring to possible individual responses in the thread, not the poll itself.

I agree, and there's certainly more important things in life, which I'm sure others would be out-competing me in. I just find it to be an interesting topic I guess.

I like that you let us pick three options, at least. I've rake in less than $10K/year right now, with various part-time gigs and stuff. I was in the mid-80s at one point, then got laid off. It's starting to really suck now after three years.

I'm retiring end of the month, an I'll stay in the same category, just lower in it.

I don't think it's a very fair poll as wage is different to income. With such a high wage, you should consider other avenues of earning income...

Your post is kind of confusing as no one has brought up wages previously... I don't understand your objection. Lex is asking how much total money we make per year from our job(s).

sorry for the confusion. I normally associate income from jobs to wages... annual income could also be from investments which are not part of your job.

So I'm confused as to if he wants total income, or just income from wage (job(s)).

Just labor, not investments.
