SANDUSKY, OHIO (13abc Action News) - An East Canton, OH man died today when he was struck by a roller coaster at Cedar Point.
Sandusky police tell 13abc 45-year-old James Young was killed when he was hit by the the Raptor roller coaster.
They say it happened around 5 p.m. Thursday.
Friends of Young told investigators that after riding the ride, he had lost some of his personal belongings. That's when, police say, he jumped the fence into a restricted area, under the Raptor, and was struck by a coaster train in operation.
No other injuries have been reported.
This case is still under investigation and witness are urged to call Sandusky Police at 419-627-5877 with any information.
It's tragic but we have security fences and warning signs for a reason. Obviously he should have just waited for Chris Pratt to come help.
