Damn the terrorists to hell.

Maybe now the French will react with some gut to the invaders trying to take over their country.

President Hollande is apparently referring to the attack as an act of war. I wonder if he'll invoke NATO Article 5. If so, it seems likely (and overdue) that ISIS is about to get the war with the West they keep clamoring for.

He's well within his rights to do so, since we did the same thing after 9/11. The British have basically already told him "we're in".

I hope Reconquista 2.0 is possible soon, but I think the West still lacks the intestinal fortitude to do what will be necessary.

This might be somewhat off topic, but WTF is actually going on at Mizzou? Every time I read anything about it I'm always left thinking, "I have to be missing something here, there's no way it's this stupid."

It really is that stupid. Black students at Mizzou are outraged because some rednecks in pickup trucks said mean things in their general direction, and at some point in the past year there was a poop swastika.

This is somehow just as important as the events in Paris because ~reasons~.

No, no, you see when she says " people of color" she really means "that are American college students". Remember that colleges are 'safe spaces' so anything a minority college student perceives as bad is obviously terrorism.

So apparently according to her, what happened at Mizzou is terrorism where nobody died.

Well, technically you CAN have terrorism where no one dies, if the terrorists are just really shitty at killing people.

She might as well just be typing "But we're terrorized too! Really! We're terrified of rural white people using mean words and obsolete battle flags!! Really! We live in constant terror! We do! Guys? Guys?? Pay attention to meeeee!! I'm relevant, really I am!!"

I was thinking the same thing.

You are all insufficiently cynical. This is Ann Coulter taking the opportunity to mock ignorant college students. Don't read more into it than is there. If you were sympathetic to the ignorant college students, as in other incidents, you'd have a different take on it.

Post subject:  Re: France

The college students who are protesting have a very self-centered perspective. They're all about trying to change the actions of others, even if it requires limiting rights such as free speech, to prevent "micro-aggressions" that often don't even occur on campus. Anyone who doesn't agree with their opinion is the enemy, and they even turn on each other when they detect subtle differences in ideology. Professors and school administrators who don't side with them enough need to be fired, according to them. Differences in opinion are not tolerated by these extreme leftists. Although the protesters haven't threatened violence (although they nearly attacked a news photographer actually), they still are against freedom, and I see similarities to thinking of the terrorists who attacked the cartoonists for depicting Mohammed. Political correctness taken too far results in violence against people with offensive opinions. In a recent South Park, for example, Cartman was beaten up by PC Principal for saying too many politically incorrect things.

Also back on the topic of this thread, it's fascinating how they see the events of Paris as a threat to their time in the news spotlight.

The surprise is more that they agreed with Ann Coulter. She is high on the list of Things Liberals Don't Like and so agreeing with her is a cardinal sin. As they said, what is the world coming to?

Well, at least in Dave's case. I'm drawing a blank on Slythe right now. It's been so long I forget why I hate most of you. I need to go back and hate you all in alphabetical order, again.

I think it falls into that "Even a broken clock is right twice a day" category. I can recall agreeing with Al Sharpton on one occasion, but I can't for the life of me remember what the reason was. I don't really like Ann Coulter all that much myself but in this case it's pretty hard to argue she's wrong.

In an attempt to understand what this so-called controversy was about, I had to look up wtf "Mizzou" was. I thought it must be some obscure middle-eastern city recently hit by some terrorist attack, and that they were complaining that they must have gotten no press compared to Paris.

****. What a bunch of mixed up idiots you've got there.
