Is he not a senior Republican figurehead? Not that I like Dubya at all, because I don't, but Bush the Elder is too old for this kinda thing. Also, two flamebaits in one day... doesn't that make you tired? |

Don't be a hater Monte, think of the opportunities for a ganja moment. You don't leave your tools in the box because they're not chrome plated man, in a crisis use everything you've got. W. will get people involved who wouldn't come to the party because Barry looks to be hosting it. Seriously Monte, do you ever think before posting this tripe, or is it just the visceral reaction of someone who hates passionately? |

But, it doesn't count since Obama is only doing it to maintain bipartisanship so he can push more important things through. |

I thought it was a good thing when former US Presidents used the weight of their former office to help raise awareness and aid for humanitarian causes? Or is that not the case anymore... someone should get on the phone and tell Jimmy Carter before Monte stops calling him the greatest President of his lifetime. |

James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr. has done many wonderful things since his rather embarrassing tenure as President. He is the greatest ex-President of the latter half of the 20th century. A very qualified distinction. |

It's not like they probably have the competance to "lead" a real relief effort. They'd just hire someone that does or seems like they do and take the credit. That's how it works, Im sure you know. |

I thought it was pretty standard to ask ex-presidents to do this sort of thing? I know HW Bush and Clinton did a lot of this type of mission. Micheal wrote: James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr. has done many wonderful things since his rather embarrassing tenure as President. He is the greatest ex-President of the latter half of the 20th century. A very qualified distinction. Is this serious or tongue in cheek? I see it just the opposite. Sure his presidency was embarrassing but at least he seemed a nice guy with good intentions. Now he's a loon. |

Dash, from 1980-2000 he did a lot of good. The last decade, not so much, though trying to embarrass W. with the truth does have a certain panache. The Wiki has a good write up on him. |

Brain hurts, melty. At least he brought in an adult to hold bush's hand. Maybe ol' W might learn somethin' bout disaster relief. |

Of course he did. George Bush was never an expert in disaster relief. Obama isn't either. That's why Presidents appoint advisors and heads of agencies. They can't be experts on all, or even most, of the things they are confronted with. Of course, if you say it snarkily enough maybe that will somehow be an impeachment of Bush. |

Seriously, it's **** like this that have given you the reputation you have so deservedly earned. <------ is not surprised in the least that Monty would take the oppurtunity to insult someone using a tragedy such as this. |
