No really, it was. Problem: User's clock was 1 hour behind after DST change this weekend. Helpdesk Troubleshooting: Helpdesk agent had ensured computer was set to automatically adjust for DST, and tried to change the time. Time had reverted back to being 1 hour behind immediately, so the helpdesk agent escalated the issue to me. Solution given to user: "This is George W. Bush's fault. In 2007, he changed the dates on which daylight savings time takes effect. Other countries followed suit. You are missing a three year old patch to compensate for this." (Installed patch, fixed problem.) |

A system missing a patch since 2007 ...? I'd lay a smack-down on the admin staff. That's pretty bad. |

And the user didn't notice anything wrong in 2008 or 2009? Remember that "mail your computer back because you're too **** stupid to own one" thing? |

Daylight savings time is the most pointless thing in existence. It is even more pointless than male nipples. |

Raltar - There are many useful aspects of daylight saving time. Read up on it a little and you might even find something you didn't know and can appreciate about it. |

Taskiss: There are over 35,000 workstations in the company. There are likely several that fell through the cracks no matter how automated the process is. Diamondeye: Actually, she did notice it. She commented that last year she was really busy and never got around to calling in before the problem corrected itself about a month later. |

He's from AZ, one of two states who don't have daylight saving. Well, I'm from California(and currently located there). But having lived in AZ and actually experience the awesomeness of no daylight savings time, I can say without a doubt that AZ is the smartest state in the world for not bothering with it. |
