Quote:
President Barack Obama said Thursday he’s amused by the anti-tax tea party protests that have been taking place around Tax Day.

Obama told a fundraiser in Miami that he’s cut taxes, contrary to the claims of protesters.

“You would think they’d be saying thank you,” he said.

At that, many in the crowd at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts stood and yelled, “Thank you!”

Deficit spending is just a tax on future earnings.

and before anyone says anything Yes that makes Bush guilty (though not as guilty) as our current President.

I'm not so sure that's even the case. Most of the T-bills sold to finance Obama's deficit spending were sold at 3.8% or lower, if you look at the core CPI with housing stripped out, (it's still crashing) it's pretty evident that everyone who bought those is going to end up actually paying the government for the privilege of lending it money.

Well then it's likely di get to the point were people don't want to lend us money. China isn't doing it because they like us

The problem with that line of thought is that it is official White House and Democratic Party policy to state that all spending and deficits generated by the Obama Presidency are the last guy's fault. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are both on record as saying the 9 trillion dollar expansion to the National Debt for THIS fiscal year is Bush's fault.

Considering Pelosi's held the purse strings sinces 2006, she has huge balls.

That doesn't matter -- the Bush Shield is in full effect and this Administration and its Party's Congress have no desire to make themselves accountable for anything. The failure of the not yet implemented Health Care Reform Act is already being blamed on Bush.

Arathain:

They can't fund it; they know they can't fund it; and they know it won't increase coverage. So, because Bush actually vetoed 3 attempts to remove the tax shelter for employees on group plans, the hostility toward the reform and the tax changes are his fault.

I somehow doubt that, since the "official" expansion of the debt is more like $1 trillion. Even if the actual number is somehow $9 trillion, I doubt Reid and Pelosi would actually admit that.

That's because they're planning on running against Bush for the 4th election in a row in 2012.

T-bills aren't sold at their bond equivalent rate, they are indexed by discount rate.

Still, inflation is still going to exceed the interest rate on them. Even the Treasury Inflation Protected Securities, well, aren't because they're indexed to core CPI which is still zero or even negative because of housing.
