Quote:
MEXICO CITY (AP) — After 40 years, the United States' war on drugs has cost $1 trillion and hundreds of thousands of lives, and for what? Drug use is rampant and violence even more brutal and widespread.

Even U.S. drug czar Gil Kerlikowske concedes the strategy hasn't worked.

"In the grand scheme, it has not been successful," Kerlikowske told The Associated Press. "Forty years later, the concern about drugs and drug problems is, if anything, magnified, intensified."

Thought it was an interesting article. As an aside, I also found it amusing that FOX published this shortly after a Republican advocated marijuana legalization :P

Yup.

I wonder how many years and dollars later we'll see an article saying the same thing about the "war" on terrorism.

Nitefox:

You should read more carefully. The new CBO adjusted audit of the HCRA, which isn't exactly new, has the HCRA increasing the cost of Health Care by $1 trillion over the next 10 years on top of originally expected expansions in cost without reform.
