I wouldn't say it was fascinating; just the same stuff I've read about him elsewhere packaged in short-form. |

Interesting. He is a fascinating person who, although I disagree with him, should have had his day in court. |

Yeah, I really wish the supreme court had heard his case. They really wussed out on that one. I really suspect that they didn't hear the case because the law would have been on his side, and the majority of Americans can't handle that level of personal responsibility without freaking out. |

The Constitution may be on his side; I believe, to some degree, it is. That said, the Law is not on his side. Suicide is a crime in the majority of states. |

The real issue we should be contemplating, in my opinion, is not whether physician-assisted suicide should be legal under the law. Instead, we should be asking ourselves when physician-assisted suicide turns into, essentially, murder. For example, his patient that had Alzheimer's but was in the early stages he effectively murdered; however, based upon how the consent laws function it would be impossible for an Alzheimer's patient in the mid-to-late stages to consent to physician-assisted suicide. Therefore, I ask: where should the line be drawn? |
