As some of you are very good at finding info of a political nature - I am looking for sites or articles that describe the breakdown of communication from FEMA during Katrina. Anyone want to help? |

Here's the government assessment: Quote: A FAILURE OF INITIATIVE Final Report of the Select Bipartisan Committee to Investigate the Preparation for and Response to Hurricane Katrina U.S. House of Representatives http://www.gpoaccess.gov/katrinareport/mainreport.pdf Here's a GAO report: Quote: HURRICANES KATRINA AND RITA Coordination between FEMA and the Red Cross Should Be Improved for the 2006 Hurricane Season http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d06712.pdf Tons of stuff, I was using "FEMA failure to communicate Katrina site:.gov" as my google search criteria. |

Good luck sifting through the garbage to find legit information. You might as well be searching the internet for: "Who governs more effectively, Democrats or Republicans" or legitimate scientific, medical studies on the feasibility of enlarging penises. |

This is what I was thinking. Especially the part about penises. Hokanu could you be a little more specific about what you are looking for? |

In specific the chain of events that happened prior to and just after landfall between FEMA and the Louisiana State Government. Those .gov docs are actually quite helpful. I am doing a communication analysis for school and was having a hard time finding information. Basically I am analyzing FEMA's poor crisis communication methods. |

Yea, but they only had poor methods because George Bush hates black people. So there isn't really anything to analyze. Duh. |

So you are finding facts to support your already decided conclusion? |

All facts are welcome. I apologize for my cumbersome statement. I am doing an analysis on the communication issues that occurred during the hurricane. What type of communication model does FEMA use? Did they have a communication crisis plan and if so were they able to follow it? Did FEMA have the resources necessary to handle the crisis? How were the results evaluated? What measures were used? Etc. I have no real desire to slant anything. If I find out that FEMA is the model for communication efficiency then I will happily conclude that is the case. I only posted this in hellfire as I feel this is really the only 'political' forum in nature. It was never my desire to start an argument about the evil republicans vs evil democrats vs godzilla etc. Once again, apologies for my obviously loaded statement. I do not have all the facts and I would enjoy any additional information anyone would like to provide. btw Thank you for the links Taskiss |
