As of this particular moment... 1% of NV votes recorded. The tentative results show Reid in the lead by 10%. My question here is: if 65% of registered voters went and voted early... and the polls showed Angle in the lead (mind you I do not care for her either, but lesser of 2 evils and all that) so how is it that suddenly now: Reid is winning this so quickly? oh and **** Reid! |

So far I'm relatively pleased overall. I am a little disappointed that my representative in Congress will still be a stereotypical liberal but I guess you can't have it all. I'm glad to see Nancy's pretentious little *** booted out of the Speaker's seat. Still hoping to see Reid booted as well. |

I just fired off an email to Boehner, lambasting for stating that "in this country, the President sets the national agenda..." in his acceptance speech. **** off, jackass. You don't get to hide behind a mean man with a veto. You've got the power of the purse, and the power to introduce bills. I don't care if the Senate is hostile to them, or if they get vetoed. Vote them through, so the failure is on them, not you. "Oh, that guy over there sets the agenda" is just apologizing in advance for rolling over and doing nothing. Apology not accepted. |

Although each of my candidates had a remarkably strong showing in the most staunchly Democratic state in the nation, each lost. Highlights: The man elected Governor is former US Senator Lincoln Chafee, a former RINO turned Independent who supports the agenda of the sitting President, and ran on a promise to institute taxes on food, clothing, elderly assistance, veterans benefits, medicine, ect.; while cutting no other taxes. He did so with the unwavering support of state and municipal unions, with the promise that he would keep handing out salary increases, stay away from employee benefit packages, and guarantee complete funding of our bankrupt pension system. Our new Representative to the House is Pelosiite Providence Mayor David Cicilinne whom is replacing Patrick Kennedy and is currently, believe it or not, under federal investigation for corruption charges and is simultaneously being sued by the Firefighters Union for unfunding and stripping their pension account without any sort of record of accountability. A stupendous leader, I'm sure. Rhode Island is one of what I understand is only a handful of states whose Governor and Lieutenant Governor run on separate tickets. The list of Constitutional duties and authorities the LG holds are as follows: ... waiting for the Governor to die. He has no power to do anything. So in my state's infinite wisdom we provide him with a one million dollar annual budget to do... nothing, well, that's not entirely true. He does work purely as an ideological lobbyist, being payed directly by the tax payers, so I guess that's something, even if it is sickening. There was a candidate on the ballot who was a very well known alternative to this idiocy, one Robert Healey. He ran on a platform of refusing a salary or staff, and spending the duration of his service pursuing nothing other than the calling of a Constitutional Convention to debate the merits of eliminating the office of LG itself, of if retaining it, to establish actual Constitutional duties to justify the offices position. He lost 59% to 33% to the Democratic incumbent Elizabeth Roberts who last year lobbied for the creation of a fund which she would use to "create jobs" in Rhode Island, more than 80% of which was spent out of state. |

The best part of this election so far is looking around the intrawebs and watching liberals scream, cry, and generally bemoan their losses. The best part, to me, is the ascription of their losses to people being "stupid" and "voting against their own interests", which speaks only to the elite mentality: "We know your best interests, you don't." The only pause I have in this regard is knowing there's also plenty of people on the right that like to think the same thing. Underestimating the other side is a huge mistake. The hilarities I've read so far though (not in quotes since I haven't bothered to repeat it exactly) How long until the genocide starts? - Yes the word genocide was used, because we all know every time the Republicans are in charge there's a genocide. One wonders if they think genocide refers to more than 2 people of the same ethnic group dying. This one was so over the top I saw other liberals telling him to shut up. Rand Paul's victory shows how stupid people from Kentucky are - I don't know what's funnier, the juvenile oversimplification and hubris, or the blatant bigotry. All the civil rights progress in the last 200 years for <insert minority group here> is undone! - yeah ok. The first thing on the Republican agenda is repealing the 13th ammendment, I'm sure. Indiana is voting against its own interests! My area went opposite of my choices on everything! - Has it occured to you that it is probably not a matter of you being right and all your neighbors being wrong? I'm sure a lot of it is venting, but it is amusing. |

Holy crap... so my co-worker just told me about his neighbor... His neighbor saw this woman in line in front of him at the polling place. A Little while later she went in to vote... a little while after that; he saw the woman a few spots in behind him. When asked why she was back in line... she said she had already voted for Reid three times. |

It looks like Patty Murray is going to edge out Dino Rossi here to keep her Senate seat, which really bums me out. Dave Reichert is going to keep his 8th district congressional seat by soundly defeating DelBene, which is a victory as far as I'm concerned. On another positive note, the new WA state income tax was soundly defeated (70%/30%) and the candy/soda tax that was legislated in last year was soundly overturned by initiative (63%/37%). Both of these are hopeful signs. We need to figure out some way to disown the City of Seattle (King County) and make it part of California or Oregon (much better fit IMO). This state might be a decent place to live without those ignoramus', based on the poll results I'm seeing from around the state. |

I'm cautiously optimistic. I don't trust Republicans much more than Democrats at the moment. But I'm heartened by Senators-elect Rand Paul, Pat Toomey, and Marco Rubio getting elected. In addition, it's good to see Senator DeMint win again in South Carolina. Hopefully they see that rampant spending and high taxes are going to cause this country to crumble and they can help in the reversal of that trend. I'm still a bit dissapointed Senator Reid kept his seat though. Nevada is controlled by Las Vegas and the union vote apparently, which still strongly influences that seat. Thank god his son lost for governor though. Enough of the Reid family. |

1) Happy with the PA results. Philly and Pittsburgh didn't dictate the results this time. Maybe politicians won't consider the rest of the state "flyover" land. Doubtful. I expect signifigant entitlement changes here. 2) LOL @ California. Elect those f-tards but NO to 19? I can't wait till the responsible states have to bail out California. What a State full of wasted potential. 3) F YOU GRAYSON! I hope not a single person hires you, and you've got to move to an area that's ignorant as to what a bigus dickus you are. 4) Yay govt slowdown. 5) Yay 3rd party traction. 6) Yay toscared Republicans about to get slapped by Tea party caucus. They've got to live up to their pledge or expect everything up to recall votes. I predict record amounts of recall votes within 2 years. All in all a positive night. |
