There's a big difference between owning 3 snakes as pets and having 4-6 murderous rattlesnakes take up residence in your home. I'm scared to death of all snakes, though. Nightly nightmares about them and everything.

I'll still take those any day over the goddamned Canada Geese. At least the snakes don't bother you if you don't bother them. Some geese are so aggressive they'll come right for you if you get within a quarter mile.

I fear nothing I can kill with a boot. We get geese around here, but maybe they are a bit wussified. Worst I had to do was smack one on the bill that come up hissing at me. I actually find squirrels to be more bothersome in this end of PA.

The main reason I wouldn't live in AZ is that you need to pack water no matter where you go.

Geese must be able to smell blood on your hands and/or recognize murderous intent. I have four confirmed kills, and geese pretty much leave me alone. Just treat those belligerent feathered **** like the dinner they are. Choke its *** and beat the children to death with the corpse.

I haven't caught one on the road yet but I always accelerate at them full-tilt. I consider it Darwinism at play and hope that by eliminating the slow **** with no regard for traffic will leave behind the "smart" ones.

Swans are assholes, too. Even geese think they're jerks.

The captions on those pictures made me do a spit-take.

If you watch the video again, you'll see that the snakes didn't do anything until the guy approached and threatened them. And even then it was only one of them that was aggressive. It's all about knowing the animal and how to behave around it.

OMFG Geese.

I grew up on a farm. Ok, that sounds nice enough, but imagine being 4-6 on a farm. Everything is huge, stronger than you, and you have chores to do. You have to feed them, water them, put them in pens. Even hauling around buckets of water and grain is difficult. Some of the animals were ok - I got along with the horses and rabbits fine, and the pigs were cool (until my mother found out one ate the entire flock of chickens, and was scared for her children and had it butchered), but with some animals it was constant warfare (goats, roosters, and **** geese).

The geese hunted me and my siblings. I mean hunted. They would find us and they would **** us up. Finally, my father witnessed this, and introduced us to the I'm-meaner-than-you-stick. He gave me a big-ass stick and sent me off to battle. I have to say, it was an ugly battle, and there was much collateral damage. It lasted for about an hour. I was in bad shape but I finally got the upper hand. I was 5. From that day forward, that farm was a bad place to be for a goose. There was a lot of pent-up anger.

Still is. **** geese.

I've never seen a rattler outside of zoos or camping once or twice in the desert (camping in the pines is better, so I do it more often). I'm willing to bet that the house in the video is a bit in the boonies, though.

But I'll agree that geese are agents of teh Debil, though.

:o Wow its that bad? I actually ment going longer distances, but its always when I'm visiting family out there that they stress the keeping of water in the trunk. Course they live out there a bit. They have a snake shovel. Meaning a big plastic shovel ment to get the snakes off the driveway.

A hoe is a better snake implement. The angle of the blade allows you to keep the snake further away when you cut it in half.

I prefer to be a bit farther away myself. They make a special .22 shell with little BB's packed inside. If the snake's on a gravel road you shoot at it's belly and the shot ricochets up. There was a lot of copperheads on the farm I grew up on, we'd kill several 10's of them every summer.

I hate snakes, not with a passion but the poisonous are definitely KOS.
