I'm thinking of bubbles. Elmo's economic thread made me think of this.

The economy is always a bubble. It is like a man walking up a mountain on peg legs. Stock prices are the man's height above sea level. Eventually he falls off the peg legs. Sometimes he tumbles backwards, but he always gets back on the peg legs. Sometimes black presidents tell him to wait, and they build taller peg legs for him. The inevitable progression is always up the mountain, however.

Your ego is a bubble. It always grows until you or something else pops it, and brings you back to reality. Your ego is not your self-esteem. Your ego is just a huge pimple... it's sand in your brain. You are no better than anyone else, even if your reality is the most important to you.

Bubbles are bubbles. My dog loves to pop them.

This post is a bubble. It is a bubble of procrastination. Eventually it must be popped so that I can return to my work.

Authority is a bubble. Eventually people get so fed up that a revolution or civil war occurs. It always happens.

Personal space is a bubble. It's one of my favorite bubbles to pop. It's like an imaginary wall... I possess special jedi powers that let me pierce the personal space bubble... it's so cool.
