I'm still waiting for a decent explanation of why gas is $4.15 average around the country while oil is $100 a barrel. Gas was cheaper than that three years ago when oil was $148 a barrel. I'm really not buying the "inflation" argument, because inflation that high would, among other things, mean there was no housing bubble (houses would actually have been losing value throughout the last decade) and that right now the average American home would be worth nearly one-fifth of what it was worth ten years ago.

I find this statement, when viewed next to your avatar... unsettling.
