In what is probably a monthly victory lap around the Castle for Dr. Doom...the summer hiring bump of.... 18,000! http://newsbusters.org/blogs/julia-seym ... nt-rate-92 Quote: The unemployment rate also rose to 9.2 percent in June, and April and May data was revised to show 44,000 fewer jobs. The real unemployment rate (the figure including discouraged workers) also went up to 16. 2 percent.

“I could end the deficit in 5 minutes. You just pass a law that says that anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP all sitting members of congress are ineligible for reelection.” - Warren Buffer, July 2011 (not the same thing as job creation but still relevant IMO) |

This will all be fixed when Obama has the available jobs number lowered to get the unemployment rate under 8% in time for the election. Don't doubt me, the numbers will be doctored. |

I wonder if more Americans will still be drawing extended unemployment than will be considered "looking for work" by the unemployment rate calculations? That would be pretty epic. |

If the MN legislature is any indication, I'm not sure I agree with you. |

I assume you do too. |

The problem is why do we punish the person (or the 249 persons) who have fought for balanced budget but failed because he is (they are) in the minority. It'd be a great way to deal with your political enemies. 1. Run up a deficit 2. blame it on the opposition party. 3. Hope more of your parties newbies make it into the next election than the opposition newbies If you worded the amendment right it would be hard to break. Also they could be checked by the sitting judiciary and/or the executive. |

If you are part of a team that bankrupts the company then you get laid off as well, even if you tried to do a good job. |
