I predict good things for this thread.

That's kind of funny, but he skipped the part where women were formed from a rib. By the way people who believe this stuff are retarded.

Nah, I'm just reminded again why Rynar gave me the best advice ever when he said to put Lex on ignore. If only I could resist the temptation to click on his posts at all.

The system breaks down because quotes don't trigger the ignore function. :(

This. As much as I couldn't stand Monty, I never put him ignore. Lex though, he's bad for the brain.

This thread would already be at 3 pages if Monty or Bery were still here. I suppose it would ahve been good entertainment from an internet flamewar perspective, but... I think we're all healthier this way.

Man. You'd think that, as a man of science, he'd realize that many microbes wouldn't require two to be taken. And, hell, you don't even have to intentionally take them in the first place!

I suspect a great deal of sarcasm and other irony on the part of the teacher in the comic strip.

Yes, people who believe in talking snakes, an actual ark with pairs of every animal on it, people living to a thousand years old in Biblical times, etc., are just plain retarded.

You know, if schools all just taught creationism alongside evolution, exactly the way it's being done in this comic, it would go a long way toward helping move people away from superstitions and myth and toward legitimate science.

I actually have no problem at all with creationism being taught in our public schools. My issue with people wanting it taught in Science classes. It is not science, so has no place in a science class. Just like you don't teach Phys Ed, or Geography in a Science class.

I'd actually love to see a comparative religions class as part of the curriculum of the public school system, and that would seem to me to be a good place for creationism to be taught.

That would require teaching our children about the desert sand snake false god that the towel-heads pray to.

They should teach creationism in History class, or English.

My school system had this course, and it was very interesting. It was not required, nor should it be.

As part of your K-12 schooling? Out of curiosity where was that?

I'd be happy to have an honest debate on extra-biblical support for a young earth creation if anyone on here was really interested. If you were to teach about young earth creation in schools (why not teach both points of view and let students decide?) you'd have more to talk about than just Genesis. Otherwise I don't really care what Doonesbury thinks.
