...and assuming, for the intents and purposes of this hypothetical, that you were interested in it...would you grow your own or would you buy it?

Something that is not currently legal, that you would maybe like to smoke on the back porch with your friends.

I'd love to see an option for "Neither, I just support freedom." ;)

Well, that was kind of the point of the "assuming you are interested" part...I know quite a few on here wouldn't partake, but I was just curious as to how many would buy or grow if they had the option of doing one or the other.

Also, I didn't want to make a poll asking a personal question like whether people would "inhale" or not, haha! You can answer the question even if you wouldn't ingest it yourself...perhaps, for a "friend" ;)

I'm not interested, but in the spirit of the thought experiment, I voted 'buy'. I suck at gardening.

Grow but not partake

I'd probably keep one or two plants for myself with occasional third party buys to change it up once in a while.

He's got a point to a point. Liberty needs must include the liberty to say that such things are according to my views wrong and immoral.

You may say it as much as you want. The problem arises when you impose your morality on others.

As I said, Dr. Paul has a point, and as I said in the other thread I really feel we do an inconsistent job with our blue laws in this country. Also as I've said before I give localities and states more leeway to reflect the values of their populaces (within the guidelines of constitutional law) due to the smaller population and the ease with which one can "vote with their feet."

Also how are you defining "Impose" some people define impose as praying in public or the freedom to ask someone if they know Jesus as their personal savior.

You are free to pray in public and ask anyone you want whether they know Jesus as their savior. It would be imposing to require public prayer for anyone, or to require an answer the question if asked. You would be imposing on my freedom to not do those things.

If I were to partake, I'd buy, as others can grow much better product than I could.

I'd have to agree with that.

The relevant part of that video was the, "Who here would do heroin if it became legal tomorrow?" line.

I didn't watch the vid but I remember watching it live and hearing him say that. I thought it was a good point that unfortunately, like most other things RP says, got glossed over.

I would probably buy it for the same reason I don't brew my own beer. It'd be fun, once.

I'm already past that phase in my life, so I would have no need to buy it. I don't believe that if it was legal that growing and selling it would be worth the money since everyone could grow and sell it, so there would be no point.

I'm not interested in it, legal or not, so it's pretty much impossible to answer the question, since I don't understand the appeal. I suppose "buy" since I am not really into plants in the first place.

I'm past that point in my life too, but I would grow it anyway, because I'm not past the point in my life of enjoying something just because I can. :D
This is why I have half a beer every now and then....just for the pleasure of doing something purely because I can. :)

I doubt any of us would grow or buy marijuana if it were legalized. If we were really that interested in smoking it, we would be already, law be damned.

Hey, hey, hey now. For some of us retired rebels, talk is all we've got! Don't bust a dream, man!
