I did not. I should, but I did not....my voting precinct is an hour away. There are some things that I have not yet gotten around to changing since I moved here, and changing my registration is one of them.

Our voting is 100% mail in ballots now, and I turned mine around the same day I got it.

Um.. You should always be voting in the precinct in which you reside. If you haven't updated their records, you should still go to your local precinct, and they ought to have the paperwork to change your home precinct in their records, as well as allow you to vote provisionally this time around.

So.. get out there! If you've got one handy, bring a utility bill in your name, too. That might remove the necessity of the provisional ballot.

Kaffis, someone told me that the deadline for changing your registration was 2 weeks ago in our area, and this was someone who was a campaign manager for a local so-and-so.
I have managed to get my DL changed, and I do have utilities in my name...not sure how that would work though and I wouldn't even know where to go.

I just called the courthouse to confirm, and they said yes it is too late to change my registration...it has to be done a few weeks before voting takes place in order to get my name added to the polls.

Call them back and ask if they have any provisional ballot system. The point isn't to get your name added to the polls; yes, it's too late for that. The point is to get to vote.

Vote for what? In any case I don't believe in voting. People in California voted against gay marriage and had it removed. Not only that but voting put Obama and Bush in office. **** voting. It sucks.

So you want laws put in place that are unable to ever be changed? Should we stone adulterers to death?

I don't have a solution. I just know what sucks and what I don't want to participate in.

They said the only option I have is to drive an hour away to vote and an hour back...I'm ashamed to admit, I'm just not that dedicated of a citizen.

If it makes you feel better, you made two more calls in order to try to vote than most other people who didn't vote...

Mail-in voted. So, I can't say for sure if I really voted or not since they can make up whatever crap they want to or completely ignore/circumvent the results of voter initiatives like they have been for at least the last 15 years around WA state.

Yeah, I guess it does make me feel a little better that I'm a higher class of slacker and undedicated citizen than some... :P

Not sure what county you live in, but in Snohomish County you can check the status of your ballot online. It only tells you if your ballot was counted or not. There is no way to know if it was counted correctly.

Jesus, our school levy barely failed (thank God). They wanted $0.499 per $100 of valuation which based on the housing prices in my district would have resulted in an additional $500-$2000 a year in taxes which would have increased my personal property taxes by a 1/3.
