In an interview with KOAA-TV, a local news channel from Colorado Springs, Colorado, President Obama says if Congress is not willing to pass legislation he wants, he will do it himself in order to win another term. Read the transcript below.

Rob Quirk, KOAA-TV: "And one year from today we will know if this a one-term or two-term president. So, I asked the president what will it take from now until then to not only win Colorado again, but reelection as well."

President Obama: "Well, what we're going to have to do is continue to make progress on the economy over the next several months. And where Congress is not willing to act, we're going to go ahead and do it ourselves. But it would be nice if we could get a little bit of help from Capitol Hill."

Why, no one would bother to care. Congress clearly doesn't want to bother curbing the executive branch and niether does the judicial.

That doesn't necessarily mean unconstitutional action. He's authorized to do some things. Now if that is what he meant (and I would not be surprised), I'm still not worried. He's not good at keeping promises.

Voters might care. The republicans are close to snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, again. Maybe this could help them miss.

Rorinthas wrote: Voters might care. No, they won't. The PATRIOT Act is still a thing and it's still as unconstitutional as ever. As are many of the things Bush did expand the power of the executive. Perhaps it's more accurate to say that the other branches just aren't doing their jobs. Besides, who would the voters vote for? The party that wants to expand their power or the party that wants to expand their power?
