http://biggovernment.com/mminton/2011/1 ... ore-395072 so the law would make it mandatory to use condoms/barriers in porn. And I thought liberals wanted the government out of the bedroom, but I guess if the bedroom is the workroom it is acceptable. |

There are 49 other states that porn could be shot in if they don't like California. |

Isn't it just an on-the-job safety issue? How is it different from, say, laws against having asbestos in an office building? |

I'm sure that's what the proponents think it is, yes. In reality, it's probably not. For example, as mentioned in the article, girl on girl likely becomes illegal. |

It's an on-the-job safety issue, but it's not just an on-the-job safety issue. It also enters the realm of the rights of consenting adults to engage in sex, and the realm of impacting the appeal of the product they're trying to sell. |

Like 99% of porn is shot in California, people in the industry are probably pretty pissed. Farsky wrote: Isn't it just an on-the-job safety issue? How is it different from, say, laws against having asbestos in an office building? I'd rather see a law in the books that says a porn star needs to be cleared of any STD's prior to shooting versus requiring them all to wear condoms. That would achieve the same effect, safety wise. I doubt anyone would even care if that became a law, because AFAIK they are already pretty strict about testing all that ****, anyway. |

They'll have to leave The Valley, but I'm sure Santa Clarita or Anaheim have some beds/floors/tables/showers/grass that will work just fine. FarSky wrote: Isn't it just an on-the-job safety issue? How is it different from, say, laws against having asbestos in an office building? Only as much as buildings are protected by the freedom of expression/speech. Quote: If these changes go through, performers will be considered employees of a production company rather than independent contractors… If that is the case, then the self-imposed STD testing procedures that have made me feel safe and secure in my career will be considered workplace discrimination, and I will be disallowed from verifying that my costars are free of infection.

Quote: as mentioned in the article, girl on girl likely becomes illegal. This would be a travesty. Girl on girl is the only kind of porn I like. |

It's their locality. Let em do what they want. The city can ballet initiative whatever they want as long as their isn't a federal or state statute to the contrary. If you were looking for my vote on this one, I'm not so sure. It seems like a solution looking for a problem. |

Obviously the politicians pushing this are just shills for "Big Condom". Its a scam put forth as a sector with a lot of room for growth. I bet they have stock in the latex industry too. They are just double dipping. |

This is in no way limited to California. Girls were learning to suck cock in Rhode Island as an elective course when I was going to school. And thank God for that. |

I need to call City Hall and see if we can start issuing tax breaks to pornographers ASAP. |

If you moved porn production somewhere else, you'd suddenly find that area was the new capital of porn starlets. A lot of them come from California because it's a lot easier to get started in porn if you live right where the production facilities are. Otherwise you have to find a way to move there and support yourself until and unless you make it as a porn star. Granted, if they moved to a place like Burgdorf Junction, Idaho, the small population would present a problem, but that isn't going to happen. They'd move somewhere like south Florida where there's a large population already, as well as plenty of people with the necessary outlook on life to make **** a profession. |
