Essentially an Aethesit parade did a pair of zombies, one the pope, one Mohammed, guy gets assaulted. A muslim Judge throws the case out and lectures the assaulted for insensitivity. One more for the anti Sharia law nuts.

Actually the anti Sharia law conspiracy theorists might have something valid.

Glad I don't live there. Maybe we should find a lame excuse to invade them and spread freedom everywhere. I'm sure that in time we will win their hearts and minds or some sappy ****.

Hopefully the guy appeals. What the judge did was retarded.

Can you appeal a judge dismissing a case? Wouldn't that be double jeopardy or something?

I don't think it's double jeopardy unless you have a full trial and acquittal. That said, I don't think citizens bring assault charges - the state does. So I don't think he can appeal.

Assuming this is in the US.

I'd be making a big stink of this to my state and local officials as election season comes up if I lived in Pennsylvania. Yeah, the State brings assault charges, but they should be able to appeal the dismissal, shouldn't they? Especially in a case as blatant as this.

As for assuming it's in the US -- the second video indicates it occurred in Mechanicsburg, PA.

People could raise a stink and get rid of the judge.

So the moral of the story is that minorities are exempt from the law if they feel offended?
