Sure everyone has seen the latest non news that the Christian company that is closed on Sunday's holds a traditional view on the state of marriage, and people are suprised and furiose over it?

I have no problem with the personal boycott's and company decisions, but the counter response actually makes Chick-Fill A seem reseanable, when Chicago and Boston have decided to block the opening of any franchises. If your constituents are that upset over the companies CEO's posistion shouldn't they decide if they want waffle fries with that?

So government should punish for the wrong opinion?

Shouldn't the free market prevail. If the company is so hated and evil, then they shouldn't have to be prevented because no one will go there.

It really is non-news. Thems that want to boycott it will, and thems that want to eat there will. It got it's start in the deep south, what did people expect?

It's not like they discriminate in their hiring or serving of people. They just hold a view that a large portion of the country holds.

More power to ya Chick Fil-A.

Chick-Fil-A has never hidden their Christian roots/ownership. So what that they are making it known that they are beholden to their beliefs in a "standard marriage"? What did people expect?

They aren't discriminating and they don't plan on discriminating. Good for them to put it right out there.

Best chicken sandwich...

Well to protest all the people that are against Chick Fil-A because of this, I'm throwing out all my Freddy Mercury CDs, never buying Ben & Jerry's ice cream again, and taking Modern Family out of my record que on my DVR.

Down with good things made by people who believe or live differently than me!!!

Where did the mayors of Chicago and Boston say they would block the opening of franchises? I thought they just said "We don't want you here." Just seems like political posturing to me. When they actually try to block the construction of a new Chik-fil-a (can they even do that?), then I'll care.

Sure they can. What do you think zoning boards are for?

I blame this stupid trend on Bill O'Reilly. He has that segment on his show where he encourages people to boycott companies because of contributions/causes supported by their executives.

Wouldn't be Constitutional, though. Chik-fil-a would quickly and easily win in court. So, the mayors of Chicago and Boston are basically saying they want to punish Chik-fil-a by giving a bunch of money to Chik-fil-a (via the inevitable award of damages). Brilliant!

Well, Chicago and Boston are notoriously corrupt... #deepfriedpayoffs

It's largely silly. This is hilarious, though. http://gizmodo.com/5928926/chick+fil+a- ... n-facebook

Even more funny...

Chick-fil-a..."Go away you homophobic bigots! Chicago is too good for you! RAWR!!"

Louis Farakahn, known anti-semite and hater of gays..."Come on down buddy! Chicago welcomes you!!!"

I've always been impressed that they stand by their values. I don't necessarily share them, but I support anyone who will take a financial hit to support their values (closed on Sundays has to sting).

Government policy based on religious views? Good luck in court, morons.

I never really saw the appeal, myself. Had a chicken sandwich sometime back around 2007 and didn't find it noteworthy enough to ever visit the establishment again.

It's not that I think they are superior to anyone elses Chicken Sandwich.. That's not the point..

I like their spicy chicken wraps and those little breakfast nuggets tucked in tiny rolls...whatever those are called they are tasty. And I love their grilled chicken sandwich.
I admire them for sticking to their beliefs and being closed on Sundays...I think that's really cool and commendable.

I don't really understand the rest of the drama, however. Just seems like yet another cause for the young, discontent masses to throw themselves into since the Occupy Wall Street thing fizzled out....this will fizzle out too once the next "cause for social outcry" thing comes along.

I ate at Chick Fil A once while in Tennessee. It was not that good. I don't give a flying rat's *** what their beliefs are, that is their choice. What I do care about is decent food when I'm on the road and can't cook for myself.

The statement of the message was that they support traditional marriage. No statement was made saying they hate gays, won't hire them, or won't serve to them. Closed on Sundays was already a huge statement in their belief of Christian/Traditional values.

Why are people reacting like they are not free to have their own opinions? Why are people reacting like there is no free speech for those with values or positions counter to their own?

Overreaction, and we have at least one here in Sacramento. I've never eaten there because it is out of the way and in between a lot better places to eat.

Sheesh.
