As I know there is no way to stop this from our usual abortion debate, I had a slightly different question before we go down the same old route. Has anyone seen abortion depicted in TV (cable/regular), or movies? If so how was it done? Tastefully? Realistically? This question comes from a commentator stating that it has never been portrayed. I can remember South park dancing around the edges of it once with a stem cell episode. I think Law & Order has done more episodes on violence at abortion clinics than has actually happened. So before we being the traditional back and forth, do you remember if it has been "shown". |

Any TV references? As for depicted I am not sure, it just seemed to be a taboo subject for "entertainment". And I could not really remember anything really taking it on. |

"If These Walls Could Talk" was a TV movie. It's not really something that crops up in serial mediums a whole lot, though. The Buffy Season 9 comic sees Buffy get pregnant and plan to have an abortion, though I stopped following it in Season 8, so I'm not sure how that turned out. Edit: Amusingly here's a Fox News article decrying how very prevalent abortions are in prime time. http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/20 ... elevision/ I had forgotten about the famous "Maude" storyline, though. |

Scrubs has an episode where JD knocks up Kim (Elizabeth Banks). They deliberated over abortion or keeping the baby via a list of pros and cons. That they were considering terminating a life was never part of the dialogue nor was it hinted at by other characters. It was clear they didn't consider the fetus life. They decided to have the child when Turk's second child was born and they saw the excitement in his eyes. |

It's not a TV show/movie or film, but the play Keely & Du is about a pregnant woman kidnapped by an anti-abortion group in order to force her to have the baby, and her interactions with her caretaker there. |
