I've been looking at the goings on in Michigan since the state passed a right to work law. The unions there are predictably going(have been) berserk, resorting to violence and distruction because they didn't get their way. Nothing really new. This is what these unions do. Haven't heard much from the MSM about it(they must still be looking for those violent Tea Party folks).

But this story just stood out to me as frustrating and sad.

This guy wasn't even involved on either side it seems. Just a private business owner trying to make a living doing what he had been doing for a lot of years. And I'll say it again...had this been some conservative group that did this? The news on it would be every where.

I like the idea of not having to join a union. If they are so great and useful, then they should have no problem keeping members.

The issue is the union is still required by law to represent employees that don't join, so why would you join and pay union dues if you can get whatever benefits there are without paying?

Maybe that needs to change then.

Right. So change the law. Required membership is bullshit. So is required representation.
