I don't think it has ever occurred to a survey taker in the history of the world that some respondents might be pulling his leg.

Many of those questions are very poorly worded to get any meaningful information from.

For instance:

Q8) The outright animosity toward Obama is going to cause a hell of a lot of areligious people to vote "Do" to this question.
Q9) This does not indicate a "conspiracy." Its clear the administration did mislead the public...they claimed they absolutely knew and had proof of Iraq's WMD programs. They suspected. They did not know. That's misleading the people. It does not mean they had some conspiracy to generate a fake reason for going into Iraq. It just means *gasp* the government was dishonest. That's sorta like saying "the water was wet."
Q10) This is an odd question. What do they mean? Do they mean aliens exist and have space ships and travel the universe and have maybe visited earth? If that's what people are thinking, most vote "Do not." Of the ones who voted "Do," do they possibly just mean that they think it is likely that life has evolved elsewhere? While assigning exact odds is nigh impossible, with the trillions of trillions of planets in our universe, the mere fact that life evolved here makes it highly irrational to say you believe that alien life does not exist. (Of course, the logical answer is "not sure.")


Still, 1/5th of americans appear to believe a UFO crashed at Roswell. That's disturbing.
