Well like there is a good day to be from there.

Interesting, I thought this was already known. Wow, what a job. How do you turn this around? You need to be able to convince entrepreneurs, and middle class families to move to that **** hole.

How?

Demolish all the vacants and start over.

Time for OCP's new Detroit city plan.

"***** leave!"

Robocop jokes aside let the city contract, become a smaller area, maybe they can end up selling off prime wilderness/parks to surrounding municipalities.

They also need bankruptcy to get them out of pension obligations.

Getting rid of the endemic corruption is the primary problem, and I don't even have a clue on how you would start with that.

Stop voting Democrat. Not even forever, but passing the corrupt baton from D to D to D to D doesn't lend itself to cleaning house ever.

Stop voting for either Republican or Democrat. Both parties are corrupt to the core. The only way to stop the downward spiral is to get them out.

I didn't say vote R, but if you at least flip-flop the two they will blame the last guy and in theory clean up the previous regime's cronieism before implementing their own.

Bankrupcy, demolish all the vacancies, appropriate the property, and offer the property extremely inexpensively to developers to rebuild the city.

The infrastructure around Detroit is still good. In fact, many of Detroit's suburban areas are beautiful. (I love Ann Arbor). The potential is still there to turn the Detroit back into one of America's great cities once again. There's going to be some pain associated with that process, however.

Detroit will never recover. They need to build a wall around the city and let the animals kill each other.

Once the money is squeezed out of Detroit the corrupt will naturally leave for greener pastures.

No they won't. You don't wipe out corruption in Detroit. They will just find a new way to scam the system. You can't save the city. At some point, the city will burn again.

That's the point of the bankrupcy and demolishing... You can't scam a system that has nothing to scam.

I am down for the public firing and humiliation of all of those in power in Detroit.

If any of you had ever seen a Detroit City Council meeting, you would know there is no hope for the city. Those people are a direct reflection of the city. A few good ones and a bunch of stubborn, greedy bastards who shouldn't have anything that resembles power of any kind.

In other news, 13 people were shot over night in the city and summer isn't even in full swing yet.
