Perhaps a open thread for all the accusations, and acts of questionable voter / voting problems in this election. Opening up with.

Cincinnati bussed students with Dem only sample ballets during school hours to vote and gave free ice cream!

Stupid people have the right to vote too. Not that I approve, but still.

for a school to use it's own resources to bus students for purely partisan votes? Particularly a public school?

Schools already use students and school resources for partisan politics campaigning for their own levies. Maybe if this effort succeeds we can see a stop to students being used to campaign for that as well.

That would so rock. I remember the horror lectures we got from our teachers about how bad things were going to be if we didn't go home and beg our parents to vote the levy.

This really is not a hellfire worthy comment...

I feel awesome! I have volunteered 3 days this week with the UNLV College Republicans at their Early voting booth.

We provided information on the Republican Candidates to those who wanted it, and we handed out free muffins and juice for midterm elections and exams. We asked if people were registered to vote (not their affiliation) and we pointed them towards the campus early voting location.

Even if my candidate loses.. at least I got a small bit of involvement. And while I was there I told the people working for my candidate to let me know when they have things open during my hours of not working.

We were to understand there would be punch and pie.

I'm surprised at the stupidity of this. At least put some unelectable third party candidates on there, then you get what you want and nobody can accuse you of partisanship.

Do you really think that "We put unelectable third party candiates on there but not one of the two biggest" would actually deflect cricticism?

I'd be all for that. Third parties might start to become electable, and the political landscape would be notably improved. The vast majority of votes are cast based purely on racism, only caring which candidate has blue skin and which is red.

Putting third party candidates on the ballots of school students who can't even vote yet is going to make them become electable? Sorry, not buying it. It's not going to make students aware of third parties; most people are aware that they exist. People perceive most third parties as whackjobs, and with good reason; I'll go for blue or red skin any day over Green skin or the Constitution party (there's a misnomer if ever there was one).

Correct me if I am wrong, but all these kids were bussed there to view the sample ballot AND then immediately vote.
